Mayor Wilson Seeks Member to Serve on Pike Place Market Historical Commission 

Mayor Katie B. Wilson seeks a new member to serve on the Pike Place Historical Commission for Position 9 – Property Owner. This position is open to anyone who owns property within the Pike Place Market Historical District such as a building, residential condominium, or commercial condominium.  

The Pike Place Market Historical Commission was established in 1971 when Seattle residents voted to preserve the renowned Pike Place Market. The commission reviews and makes decisions on proposed changes within the Pike Place Market Historical District.  

The Commission consists of twelve members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Seattle City Council members. The commission includes representatives of the Friends of the Market organization, the Allied Arts of Seattle organization, Market merchants, Market residents, architects, a property owner, and an at-large member. Commission meetings are held at the Market on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 4:30 PM.
